Microsoft backs up up my O365 data
Shared Responsibility models mean that many providers don't off any guarantees around restores and that you are on your own should attacks like ransomware strike.  In fact, most advise their customers to implement a backup strategy using third-party tools.  Microsoft has no liability for the deletion of Customer Data as described in their terms of service.
